The game Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third game from the Red Dead series and it has become quite popular in a short time. Just google, Hardware Unboxed rdr2 optimization on youtube.Red Dead Redemption 2 is an action-adventure game that has been developed and published under the banner of Rockstar Studio. Sharpening makes it look ok fi you stand still for a while but as soon as you move it becomes like a pastel painting and smudgy.Ībout the options and what they do and how much of a performance impact they have, I highly suggest checking out Hardware Unboxed on youtube, they went through all the options and even tested them for performance. Yeah that is the thing, you could even try using nvidias sharpening filters and so on, but nothing will make it look fine. i looked at many links and sources on sites n videos but many say different things do you know which source bets describes graphic options as they are meaning what they do and how performanc eimpactful they are. seems if its at max game looks blurrier whne moving but clearer when standing still for some reason then if it was few notches (one or two, maybe three below max). so far there is difference but little i think. if i sohuld set it to max or few notches below max. one thing im still trying to figure out tho is sharpening. tbh tho ill rather live with blurriness on distant stuff then those aweful muddy meshy distorted pixels behind edge of moving things.

If you look at the printscreens from the guy above, you can even see how messed up and cartoony the visals look, something he thinks he made look "great", lol.

This whole "sharpening" suggestion is mostly from people who are just regurgitating what they read or heard somewhere and have no idea what they are talking about. This is a known issue and gaming news outlets and sites have brought it up, one of them even saying that there is no hardware yet released to even play this game at the highest settings or properly in 1440p. The only way to make the game look ok is to have MSAA turned on and setting the resolution scale to 1.5 or 1.250, but then that will kill your frame rate. If you use sharpening tools the game will look smudged and cartoony, specially when your character moves. Originally posted by Night:Don't mind any of these lemming replies, the game looks terrible no matter what you do as long as TAA is turned on.
